Three Days in Tulsa, Oklahoma (PHOTO BLOG)

After my friend’s wedding in Minneapolis I flew to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a work conference. We were pretty busy with the conference, but we did get a chance to check out a few restaurants and explore the downtown area a bit. Since the trip was back in September I don’t feel I remember enough about the particular restaurants (El Guapo’s Cantina and Back Alley Blues & BBQ) to write separate posts. What was nice though is that El Guapo’s Cantina marked the items that were gluten-free on their menu. I included pics from the meals below though for people to check out.

I decided to do this more as a photo blog, but will provide a few details from our brief trip. Downtown Tulsa is a cool mix of buildings. It’s very eclectic from grand old brick buildings in great shape to smaller ones sort of celebrating their age and then very modern buildings. There are decent number of restaurants and bars to check out downtown. It really is looking like they are trying to draw people back downtown. Unfortunately the weekdays that we were there downtown wasn’t super busy at night. Since we were a large group of people we were able to take advantage of the different places though. My guess is that the restaurants and bars have moved in and now they need to start building more housing in downtown. At least from appearances there didn’t seem to be many condo or apartment buildings around our hotel, but I might be mistaken on that.

It was nice to check-off Tulsa from a list of places I’ve been. We’ll see if something else brings me back there and I have the chance to explore it a bit more. Check out the pics below of our few days in Tulsa!

Some sort of pie... Mud Pie maybe? I'm spacing right now but I was able to scoop off the ice cream on top and it was delicious!
